LIFE Saramugo project has intervention in 3 Sites of Community Importance (SCI):

SCI São Mamede (PTCON0007)

SCI Moura/Barrancos (PTCON0053) and,

SCI Guadiana (PTCON0036)

The purpose of the LIFE Saramugo Project's environmental education is to reach the largest number of schools and students in the intervention area, ranging from preschool to high school.

In the 2015/2016 academic year it was possible to visit the entire intervention area, the 3 SCIs where we have interventions planned. We were with 42 classes and we got to present the saramugo to about 697 students. In the following school year (2016/2017), we were present in 26 classes and we got to present the project, saramugo and the main threats to the species, we reached about 408 students.

In total we visited 68 classes and 1105 students, and from year to year the work developed was always with new students and new classes, in order to cover a larger and more diversified public.

In the following table you can see which schools we visited and in which municipalities and parishes they are located (information in Portuguese).
