The Symposium for the Conservation of Freshwater Fish and Habitat Rehabilitation will be held at the University of Évora on 25-27 september. This event is part of the Saramugo LIFE Project - "Conservation of Saramugo (Anaecypris hispanica) in the Guadiana Basin (Portugal)" (LIFE13 NAT / PT / 000786) and aims to bring together various national and foreign experts and the general public , in order to promote the transfer and sharing of knowledge on the conservation of freshwater ecosystems and their ichthyofauna, in particular endangered species.
With a duration of 3 days, the Symposium is composed of four plenary sessions, where oral presentations will be held. There will also be presentations of posters, which will be exposed throughout the event, and a field trip.
The 4 thematic sessions will have plenary presentations by invited speakers of recognized merit, namely: Emili Garcia-Berthou (Institute of Aquatic Ecology, University of Girona, Spain); Rui Cortes (University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Portugal); Jörg Freyhof (of the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries, Germany); Carla Pinto Cruz (Department of Biology, University of Évora, Portugal).
The realization of this technical-scientific event is of extreme importance for the exchange of experiences between all stakeholders, as well as for the dissemination of the results of LIFE Saramugo Project.
LIFE Saramugo project team invites all interested parties to participate in this Symposium, which is free, but mandatory. Abstracts must be submitted by May 31 (if you wish to submit a communication / poster), registrations close June 15.
