Description: Elongated body with silver appearance. The mouth shows the lower jaw surpasses the upper jaw. It is a small species of the family of cyprinids. Its length varies between 20-25cm.
Breeding season: April-June.
Diet: It feeds mainly on larvae and insects that fall in water, vegetable debris and also small mollusks and algae.
